how can you photograph fear? this question forms the starting point for the work ‘in the mirror’, which deals with the subjective experience of fear in connection with depersonalisation. depersonalisation is an overwhelming state in which a person perceives their body or self as alien or unreal. this phenomenon is experienced very individually from person to person and is difficult to describe. the series attempts to find images for this abstract feeling.
